Next generation biofilters for improved water use: simultaneous removal of herbicides and nitrates through biofiltration.

The main goal of this project is to extend the capacity of biofilter technologies that were designed to treat “traditional water pollutants” such as organic matter and nutrients to effectively remove herbicides from contaminated groundwater and stormwater, with a particular focus on atrazine.
